We will discuss the why’s and how’s of yoga postures and the 2 styles we can explore the body within the postures, the first type is dynamic practices and second static practices.

Techniques, Training & Practice

We will study in depth posture focus using multiple techniques such as: demonstrating the yoga pose, adding verbal cues, talking about modifications options for different variations, showing hands-on assists. We will then allow students ample time for you to practice with hands-on training.

Yoga Philosophy

We will look at the layers of the subtle bodies of yoga. Exploring the chakra system and how they relate to our life and the choices we make. You will gain greater knowledge in understanding the role each chakra plays and how it correlates to the other chakras. We will then learn how we can use Asana, pranayama, meditation and the sister science of Ayurveda to help bring your chakras into balance.

We will also study the yoga sutra's of Patanjali, looking at what the 8 limbs of yoga are and how they apply to your practice in order to help grow and expand your life. The sutras are about learning to create balance and equanimity, to find peace in your life and harmony with the greater whole. The art of right living has been practiced in India for thousands of years and the foundations of yoga philosophy were written down in the Yoga Sutra of Patanjali, this sacred text details the inner workings of the mind and provides a guide for controlling its restlessness so as to enjoy lasting peace.
